OMG!

Assimilation complete.

The internet wins. It cannot be stopped.

Proof? You want proof?!

My mom just sent me an email and in it she said...

LOL.

Aaaaaarrrrrrrrgh!

And then my head exploded and I died.

I hope my mother never learns LOL, or she'll never stop, thus: the first time my mom sent me an email it was all in UPPER CASE, exclamation marks and happy faces everywhere. My sister and I suggested she not use upper case because it reads like screaming. Five years later she's still screaming.

I hate the all caps thing! What's worse is that our parents (I'll lump you into the "roughly my age group" pile) were taught actual typing skills, if those were available and if not, proper grammar and spelling and letter writing.

What is UP with the all caps action?

Don't even get me started on the geek speak stuff with U R and such shorthand. It kills me. Kills me!

This would be why, while I love the Lolcats, I don't actually write it. And the very first reference to LOL? This post. Whee!

R U sure Mom wrote LOL? She's gotten good at forwarding - but common - man let's be serious here! I spent an afternoon downloading pics off my camera, resizing in paint just so that you could get the latest and greatest of 'Tasha without Mom having to break a sweat.
Mom assimilating text chat that just makes me want to ROFLOL ;>

I learned a few of those this year as I became so active on my diet email forum. I'm pretty sure I'm older than your mother or at least her age & I take offense. TTYL
LOL

Sorry couldn't help it. Love Janet
:-) Sorry couldn't help it again.

Dawn: no really, it was from mom! I think she picked it up from Cindy. Like a transmittable disease or something.

Janet: You are NOT old enough to be my mom unless you started having your children in your teens. How old do you think I am? Remember how old Eric is? I'm 1 year 3 months younger.

Thanks right. This year? My "Almost Forty" birthday. Mom is 63, but only admits to 29 of those years.
