Baby Talk

One of the things I find most endearing about the infant stage is the tiny noises they make. No, not the crying and screaming ones, the little ones that are proto-language sounds. Here is our collection so far.

Gee
Goo
Gah
Gwah
Ah gee
Ah gah
Ah goo
Enh!

Logan tends to say Un-gee! a lot. I've taken that to mean Hungry!, which he often is.

Emma tends to say Gah-wah! a lot after she's sneezed. Terribly cute.

Now if only there was a way to skip them past the Whining part of language development.

  1. I'm planning on implementing a rule they use at the 3-year-old's pre-school: NO WHINING. Because it's a rule, he actually tends to follow it! (We'll have to see how well it works with my own kid...)

Start talkin'. I'm all ears! No, really. Spill! Otherwise it's just me and the voices in my head.

Sorry about the switch to Word Verification. I suddenly seem to have come to the attention of a bunch of spammers. I still love to read your comments, though!
