Every day I sweep these same floors.
Every day I wash these same dishes.
Every day I clean these same clothes.
Every day I hear the same whines, "I can't! It's too harrrrrd! I don't want to! I don't like it! Ehn! Ehn! Ehn!"
Every day I wonder the same thing.
If someone had said to me, years ago: "Are you willing to give up all of your free time, forever?" my answer would have been a very reasonable and resounding "Hell no!". But because it was phrased so differently, so simply, and so innocently, "Let's have kids!" we leaped in where many have gone before, but no one ever returns to tell you the whole truth of the matter.
Sisyphus, punished by the gods, has his rock, and I have mine.
However, I bet he never has to hear endless whining while he's trudging up that hill.

Oh, people tell you.
I was trying and now I'm pregnant and people tell me all the time! Yes, thanks, I KNOW!
I'm doing it anyway.
But expect to read something similar from me in the future, something like
"People told me, but I just didn't GET it!"
Hang on in there ;-). Only 20 more years!
saffa chick is right.
People told me but I just didnt get it.
I get it now. I think when they're two I'll get it even more. A friend just called me long distance and our whole conversation lasted 29 seconds out of 30 minutes, the rest taken up w squealing 2 and 3 year old. I used to think she called deliberately when she couldnt talk but now i know she just cant ever talk. ever.
But, the difference between Sisyphus and you, is that his rock will never grow old enough to do the dishes, the laundry, sweep the floors. That day, my friend, will come, and you will be left wondering just how in the hell did your babies get so old?!The free time will come again, sneaking in here and there, abd by the time the Dynamic Duo are C's age, you'll be coasting with no hands on the handlebars.
All I can say is thank goodness for Nick Jr. At least for a few minutes they don't help me clean, which makes it go so much quicker! (That sounds like I spend a lot of time cleaning. I wait until the end of the day and just do it once - most days.)
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!!!
