Beaten By Biology

I was at Market Wednesday night, and didn't get home until 9:15 pm with almost exploding breasts. I rushed in, grabbed my sleeping saviors and nursed them into deeper unconsciousness.

For once they are really really sleeping: they've been asleep for seven hours. But have I been sleeping that whole time?

Noooooo!

Instead, I was woken up by incredibly, exceedingly, painfully full breasts.

Not wanting to wake the twins, I pumped some. Now, thirty minutes later, I'm still so full that I'm beginning to feel nauseated by the pain.

I can't win the Sleeping Battle, can I? Beaten by my own Biology.

Guess I'd better go wake somebody. [Weep!]

Ouch... I don't have twins but I remember those days. Hang in there!

Oh that is really horrible. I am so sorry.
If they keep sleeping like this, your body will adjust to it... eventually.

Until then, you and I can research good institutions for our now mentally ill mommy brains.

well, at least you know now that the babes can sleep for seven hours and not starve to death, right? so, if eric is at home, why not nurse the little darlings, hand them to their father, and say "i'm taking a nap... see you in few hours"? then after your nap, you take a turn watching babies, and eric takes a nap?

Oh, I don't envy you...I remember those days too (albeit NOT with twins.) The painful breasts; the trying to decide what to do if the little ones are actually sleeping (do I take a shower, clean something, or SLEEP?) Yikes!

Watch out for plugged ducts...they always lead to mastitis for me...

SC: I am the Queen of Plugged Ducts. I keep walking the fine line between them being plugged and not quite getting an infection. Whee!

Missed it this time, too. Breast still kind of aches, though.

Sara: Totally! Actually, I stole a nap today and am going to bed EARLY in a moment. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to get actual work done.

Christy: Yup. One small post plus a little market work. And then it was off to find the twins!

Misty: Hmmm...Club Med is an institution, isn't it?

MM: Thanks! Hanging!
