Best of all, the Yellow Pear and Cherokee Purple seeds I planted along with the basil? Several of them are up today, five days later.
It never fails to astound me just how much I love planting seeds! I especially love to do it indoors, under lights and see just how fast everything will sprout under controlled conditions. Outside, the snow has turned into rain and it's overcast and grim, but indoors...indoors I have the very first hint of summer to come.
It's looking delicious!
Here's what I've planted indoors, so far:
- Sweet Genovese basil
- Super Sweet 100 (cherry tomato)
- Yellow Pear (tomato)
- Green Zebra (tomato)
- Black Krim (tomato)
- Cherokee Purple (tomato)
- Snow White (cherry tomato)
- King of the North (bell pepper)
- Sweet Chocolate (bell pepper)
- California Wonder (bell pepper)
- Brandywine Red (tomato)
- Roma (paste tomato)
- Scarlet Flame zinnia
- Scarlet sage
- Silver Falls dichondra
- 'Imperial Frosty Cherry' Pansy
- 'Sorbet Babyface White' Viola
- Mesclun mix lettuce
- Snap peas
- Snow peas
- String peas
- Spinach
- Cilantro
- Green onions
- Parsley
- Carrots
- Romaine lettuce (in Caitlin's bed)

I'm thinking our last frost date was a couple of months ago. I could be wrong. But what we receive in warm weather, we sacrifice in changing of the seasons. It isn't very dramatic here.
