He had flown out on Wednesday to be there for her passing. It was no surprise to anyone and a great relief, in many ways, to the family. These last couple of years had not been kind to her.
She was 99 years old. She absolutely burned with life for all the time that I knew her. She was like a tiny bird, with fiercely intelligent eyes, a tiny body and a great deal of love in and around her.
She will be greatly missed.
I am eternally grateful that Caitlin got to meet her and know her, if only for a little while, while she was alive and able. I have more pictures that are on film, instead of digital, that I will upload as time permits.
Emma, May 19th, 1907 to November 17th, 2006, is survived by two loving daughters, 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and innumberable friends.
Requiescat in pace!
