Rollin', rollin', rollin'!

Emma rolled over tonight.

While I wasn't looking! Thank goodness she wasn't on the sofa.

Unfortunately, she was so mad at the tummy time that I didn't try to have her repeat it. There's only so much blood loss from my ears that I can take.

Did I mention that she's a screamer? Oh yeaaaaaaaah.

So why don't babies like tummy time? It seems like they all loathe it!

I think it's because until they can lift their heads up, they can't see anything but the floor under their faces. Face up, they can see you.

That's my guess. Anyone else have a better theory?

I gave up on tummy time after a while. It upset them which upset me and they were rolling over on their own soon enough that it didn't seem worth the bother.

It's not like they are going to make it to preschool, much less to the crawling stage, so deficient on that side of their bodies that they won't be able to lift up their heads.

The boys crawled on the late side and maybe that was part of it but they were also big for their age so they had to get a bit of muscle going before they could motor. Is it so horrible if they crawl later? I can't believe it is.

Let's hear it for the screamers!

I don't think it's bad if they crawl later. Keeps them out of trouble that much longer, because once they start crawling nothing is safe!

I'm actually a little nervous about all this early rolling over! These two already out number me!
